FAQs

Do I have to be pregnant to come to Beautiful Bellies?
Not at all! While we specialise in pre & post natal treatments, everyone deserves to be pampered! So whether you are wanting some solo “me time”, a pamper sesh with your bestie or some quality relaxation with your partner… we have something for everyone to enjoy!

At what stage during my pregnancy is it ok to have a treatment?
Pregnancy massage is completely safe from the moment of conception right up until birth. It is important to let your therapist know what stage of pregnancy you are at so they can make sure you are comfortable and safe and tailor the treatment to assist with what symptoms you might be feeling.

What are some benefits of Pregnancy Massage?
Overall, pregnancy massage is a great way to calm your mind and relax your body in this time of immense change. It is a beautiful way to connect with your Bub and support the many structural changes your body experiences. Pregnancy massage can be beneficial for different reasons at different stages of pregnancy. In early stages it helps combat some of the symptoms which come with the first trimester such as nausea, fatigue and headaches. As you progress through pregnancy and into your second and third trimester, massage supports the structural changes which occur in the body that allow Bub to grow and develop as well as hormonal changes and emotional well-being. In the third trimester, pregnancy massage is all about preparing for birth and labour by loosening muscles and getting you into a more relaxed state.

How often can I come for pregnancy massage treatments?
It is safe to have pregnancy massage regularly. Recommendation on how close your treatments should be from a therapeutic point of view will be discussed by your therapist and will depend on your presenting conditions, symptoms and treatment plan. It is generally recommended to have a treatment once a month and more often if you are experiencing pain or discomfort or are nearing the end of pregnancy where we begin to prepare your body for birth.

Do you have belly holes in your massage beds?
From second trimester or if you are uncomfortable laying flat, we use side lying position for our treatments. This position is recommended as the safest position by Pregnancy Massage Australia. We also use lush body pillows to help support your body and belly to help ensure complete comfort.

I received a voucher while I was pregnant but have already had my baby… Can I still use it?
Yes! You are welcome to come and enjoy a post-pregnancy massage. Alternatively you can use the value of your gift voucher towards another treatment.

What are the benefits of Post Pregnancy massage?
Postnatal massage is all about correcting postural changes and reenergising the body.

How soon after birth, can I come for a Post Pregnancy treatment?
Postnatal massage is recommended within the first couple of days after giving birth! So as soon as you can make it into the spa would be most beneficial. However Post-natal massages can be up to 6 months after giving birth. If you have had a c-section it is recommended to wait 6 weeks unless medical clearance is given from your care provider.

I received a gift voucher but I’d like to change the treatment I was gifted and pay the difference. Can I do this?
Absolutely. You are welcome to use the value of your gift voucher for any service. However credits cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash.

Do I have to pay a deposit prior to my treatment?
No funds will be charged prior to your treatment, however we do require credit card or gift voucher details to secure your booking. Payments for treatments are only charged on the day of the booking.

I’m pregnant… Which treatments are NOT recommended?
Any treatments that are not recommended for pregnancy are stated so on the package or treatment description on our website.

Can I claim my treatment through my private health insurance?
At this time, health insurance rebates are not offered, however our packages are at a reduced rate and offer great value.

What is the cancellation policy at the spa?
Life is full of surprises so if you need to cancel your appointment, change your treatment or reschedule the time, Beautiful Bellies Day Spa must be notified at least 24 hours prior to your treatment. Failure to do so will result in a charge of 50% of the treatment amount.

What are the terms and conditions for Gift Vouchers?
Gift vouchers are valid for 18 months from the date of purchase. Gift vouchers are non refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
